The Bedford County sheriff’s office is expected to judiciously follow the statute of limitations when requesting an active arrest warrant from the local tribunal. One of the reasons why the police choose to procure arrest warrants from the court is that they confer particular rights on the peace officers.

For one, through the use of an active warrant, an arrest can be made at any time and any place. In fact, in case of a serious crime, it is also possible to rally the police’s support from other counties. This means that wherever the perpetrator goes if there is an outstanding warrant in the system against him, the tiniest legal infraction can lead to his arrest.

Also, with a warrant, the cops can legally take a person in for questioning and detain him for several hours before he/she has to be presented in court. Another factor to consider is that if a warrant has been granted against a person, the police must already have a significant amount of evidence against him.

Keeping this in mind, if you believe that there might be a Bedford County outstanding warrant in your name, it would be best to ascertain the veracity of this assumption at the earliest and get in touch with your attorney. To find out for sure, you will need to get somebody to get a warrant search done and look for arrest records with the following state divisions:
